Endotoxin Activation
The assay begins with endotoxin (lipopolysaccharide, LPS) binding to recombinant Factor C (rFC), the first component in the cascade. -
Enzymatic Cascade
Activated rFC triggers the sequential activation of other recombinant components, such as recombinant Factor B (rFB) and recombinant Proclotting Enzyme (rProCE), mirroring the natural LAL pathway. -
Signal Generation
The final activated enzyme cleaves a chromogenic (color-producing) or fluorogenic substrate, generating a measurable signal.The intensity of the signal is proportional to the endotoxin concentration in the sample. -
Quantification
A standard curve created with known endotoxin concentrations is used to calculate the endotoxin content in the test sample.
